1KOMMA5° is a Hamburg-based climate-tech company founded in 2021 that positions itself as a one-stop-shop for climate-neutral home energy, selling and installing solar panels, battery storage, heat pumps and EV charging equipment through a network of acquired regional installation companies across Europe and Australia.
The company's proprietary Heartbeat AI software links customers' solar, battery, heat pump and EV-charging equipment into a virtual power plant, coordinating consumption and feeding flexibility back to electricity markets. By May 2026 the company said this virtual power plant had reached one gigawatt of time-shiftable capacity.
1KOMMA5° grew quickly through acquisitions of local installation firms, reaching unicorn status ($1 billion valuation) in June 2023 after raising 215 million euro in equity, and has since raised a 150 million euro pre-IPO round in December 2024 that was extended in July 2025 with a new investor, as the company has signaled an eventual public listing.
