Overview
Ant International is the overseas digital-payments and financial-technology arm of Ant Group, the Chinese fintech affiliate of Alibaba best known for operating Alipay. It is a distinct entity from Ant Group itself: Ant Group set up an independent board for its international division in March 2024 as part of a broader restructuring, and the unit -- headquartered in Singapore, with a major presence in Shanghai -- has since operated with its own governance and management even though it remains part of Ant Group from a shareholding perspective. Ant International runs cross-border payment and merchant-services brands including Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr, connecting more than 150 million global merchants with over 2 billion user accounts across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. The unit generated close to $3 billion in revenue in 2024 and has posted two consecutive years of adjusted profit, positioning it for a possible future spinoff and standalone Hong Kong listing that market watchers see as a path to reviving Ant Group's own IPO ambitions, which were suspended by Chinese regulators in 2020. In July 2026, Ant International closed roughly $1.2 billion in Series A equity financing from existing shareholders Ant Group and Alibaba Group, plus other unnamed international investment institutions, to fund further global expansion.
