Overview

Applied Intuition builds software infrastructure for vehicle intelligence and "physical AI" -- tools that let companies build, test, validate, deploy and operate autonomous and software-defined systems across automotive, trucking, construction, mining, agriculture and defense. The company was founded in 2017 by Qasar Younis (CEO), a former Y Combinator COO and automotive engineer, and Peter Ludwig (CTO), a former Google engineer who worked on Google Maps and Android Automotive. Its simulation, vehicle-platform and autonomy-stack products are used by 18 of the top 20 global automakers, and the company has expanded aggressively into defense, winning a Department of Defense Blanket Purchase Agreement for AI and autonomy test-and-evaluation software and, in 2026, a Department of War contract to build an enterprise "Autonomy Factory" pipeline. Applied Intuition has grown through acquisition (Mechanical Simulation Corporation/CarSim in 2022, SceneBox/Caliber Data Labs in 2023, Embark Technology in 2023, Ghost Autonomy's patent portfolio in 2024, EpiSci in 2025, and Reblika's generative-AI technology in 2025) and through strategic partnerships including OpenAI (announced June 2025, for AI-powered in-vehicle experiences), Porsche (a strategic investor since its Series E), Stellantis (STLA Brain / Vehicle OS), TRATON (TRATON ONE OS for Scania, MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck & Bus) and Saudi Arabia's HUMAIN. The company closed a $600 million Series F financing and tender offer in June 2025 at a $15 billion valuation, up from $6 billion at its March 2024 Series E.
