Overview
Arcadia (legally Arcadia Power, Inc.) was founded in 2014 by Kiran Bhatraju, who remains Founder and CEO, with a vision of unlocking global utility data to accelerate the energy transition. The company is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Arcadia began as a platform giving residential customers across the U.S. access to renewable energy and community solar, including wind energy offset programs, home efficiency upgrades, and smart metering, and later extended clean power access to employers as an employee benefit. Over time the company shifted toward a business-facing model, building the Arc platform -- a software layer that gives energy companies and enterprises access to utility data, carbon accounting, EV charging optimization, rooftop solar proposals, and community solar management.
Arcadia has grown substantially through acquisition, adding Urjanet's utility-bill-data automation in 2022, Oregon Shines' community solar operations in 2023, RPD Energy's business energy procurement capabilities in February 2025, and ENGIE Impact -- described by Arcadia as the world's largest enterprise utility bill management platform -- in May 2026. In March 2025, Arcadia's community solar subsidiary merged with Perch Energy to form a new venture. Arcadia now describes itself as 'the energy intelligence platform for businesses,' combining unified utility data, AI-powered analytics, and advisory services for enterprise customers.
