Overview

Bitmain designs and sells Antminer-brand ASIC chips and mining rigs used to secure the Bitcoin network, and and formerly operated the AntPool mining pool and BTC.com (both became independent in 2021), and continues to offer Bitcoin-mining hosting/data-center services. It is widely regarded as the dominant global supplier of Bitcoin mining hardware, historically credited with roughly three-quarters of the market at its 2018 peak. The company has twice pursued and abandoned public listings (a lapsed 2018-2019 Hong Kong IPO application and reported, unconfirmed later interest in a U.S. listing), remaining privately held as of September 2026. Its most recent disclosed primary funding round was a 2018 Series C; more recent capital activity has instead run through affiliates such as Nasdaq-listed lending partner Antalpha (IPO'd May 2025) and hardware/hosting deals such as the 2025 American Bitcoin partnership.

You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
