Overview
Founded in 2014 by Eric Demuth, Paul Klanschek, and Christian Trummer in Vienna, Austria, Bitpanda began as a simple way for Austrians to buy Bitcoin and has since grown into a broad investment platform covering crypto assets, stocks, ETFs, precious metals, and commodities for millions of users across Europe.
Beyond its consumer app, Bitpanda operates Bitpanda Technology Solutions, a business-to-business unit that licenses its trading and custody infrastructure to banks and other financial institutions, and it holds a MiFID II investment firm license and an EU crypto-asset service provider authorization under MiCA.
As of 2026 the company is led by CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, with co-founder Eric Demuth serving as Executive Chairman after stepping back from day-to-day co-CEO duties, and in January 2026 it was reported to be preparing a Frankfurt Stock Exchange listing targeted for the first half of 2026, though no IPO had been confirmed as completed by this writing.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
