Overview
Constellation Automotive Group is Europe's largest vertically integrated digital used-car platform, combining consumer-to-business, business-to-business and business-to-consumer used vehicle remarketing under one owner. Its principal brands are BCA (the UK and Europe's largest vehicle auction operator), We Buy Any Car (the UK's leading consumer car-buying service), cinch (an online used-car retail platform launched in 2020) and, since May 2022, Marshall Motor Group, one of the UK's largest franchised car dealer groups. The group traces its roots to British Car Auctions, founded in 1946, and took its current form after private equity firm TDR Capital completed a roughly £1.9 billion take-private acquisition of the group's then-publicly-listed predecessor company in November 2019, with the enlarged business rebranded Constellation Automotive Group in October 2020. Headquartered in Bedford, England, Constellation auctions and remarkets well over a million vehicles a year across its combined businesses. In April 2025 it further expanded its auction footprint by acquiring rival UK auction group Aston Barclay, along with Aston Barclay's The Car Buying Group subsidiary, from Rutland Partners.
