Overview
Create Music Group is a Los Angeles-based music distribution, publishing, rights-management, and data-analytics company. It was founded in early 2015 by Jonathan Strauss (CEO) and Alexandre Williams (COO), childhood friends who initially built a service to recover unclaimed YouTube Content ID royalties caused by incomplete metadata registration, before expanding into a vertically integrated platform spanning distribution, publishing, sync licensing, and content production.
The company describes itself today as helping artists, labels, and music entrepreneurs grow through a combination of investment capital and a technology platform covering distribution, rights management, accounting, and real-time analytics, alongside creative and A&R services. It reports supporting more than 17,000 clients across 100+ countries.
Create has grown substantially through acquisition, absorbing distributor Label Engine and digital brand Flighthouse in 2016, and later Nirvana Digital, Monstercat, mau5trap (including Deadmau5's master recordings), !K7 Music, and Cr2 Records between 2021 and 2025. In 2025 it stood up a dedicated fund, Circuit Capital, with more than $500 million earmarked for further music-catalog acquisitions, and in early 2026 it completed a $300+ million strategic investment in Nettwerk Music Group.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
