Overview
DDN was formed in 1998 from the merger of MegaDrive Systems and ImpactData, co-founded by Alex Bouzari and Paul Bloch. The company builds storage hardware and software for AI training clusters, high-performance computing centers, and enterprise data infrastructure, and says its systems power more than 500,000 NVIDIA GPUs deployed by customers including xAI, NVIDIA, and Lambda.
DDN operated without institutional capital for over two decades after ending an early-stage venture financing relationship in 2002. In January 2025, Blackstone made a $300 million strategic investment in DDN at a $5 billion valuation, the company's first outside institutional investment since that 2002 buyback.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
