Overview

Decagon was founded in August 2023 by Jesse Zhang and Ashwin Sreenivas, two Harvard-educated engineers who had each previously built and sold consumer technology startups. The company builds AI agents that resolve customer service interactions across chat, email, voice, and SMS, aiming to give enterprises concierge-level support at scale.

In just over two years, Decagon grew from a seed round into one of the fastest-growing companies in enterprise AI, raising five disclosed rounds totaling roughly $481 million and reaching a $4.5 billion valuation by January 2026. Enterprise customers including Avis Budget Group, Block, Deutsche Telekom, Affirm, and Chime use its agents to deflect a large share of incoming support volume.
