Overview
DispatchHealth was founded in Denver in 2013 by Dr. Mark Prather and Kevin Riddleberger to deliver hospital-level acute and complex medical care directly in patients' homes, building on an early pilot with Denver's 911 emergency system that demonstrated cost savings from treating patients outside the emergency room.
The company combines an on-demand clinical workforce, a proprietary logistics and care-coordination technology platform (branded CESIA), and a network of vetted specialty providers to let health systems, payers, and other enterprise customers offer high-acuity care such as hospital-at-home, ER-alternative, and transitional care in the home.
In June 2025, DispatchHealth completed a merger with Medically Home, a Boston-based hospital-at-home technology company, combining the two companies' clinical, technology, and logistics capabilities into what the companies describe as a national platform for complex care at home.
