Overview

Divergent Technologies (also known as Divergent 3D, and legally Divergent Technologies, Inc.) is a Torrance, California-based manufacturing technology company founded in 2014 by Kevin Czinger. The company develops the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), an end-to-end digital manufacturing platform that combines AI-driven generative design software, industrial metal 3D printing (additive manufacturing), and automated robotic assembly to produce complex structural components without traditional metal tooling.

Divergent first demonstrated its technology in the automotive world, unveiling the Blade, a 3D-printed supercar chassis concept, and going on to supply structural components to automakers including Aston Martin, Bugatti, McLaren, and Mercedes-AMG. Starting around 2022, the company expanded DAPS into the aerospace and defense sector, working with customers such as General Atomics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Saab, Triumph Group, and Mach Industries on programs ranging from uncrewed aircraft to missile and aircraft structures.

Leadership has transitioned from founder Kevin Czinger to his son Lukas Czinger, who by 2025-2026 was serving as Divergent's Chief Executive Officer. The company has raised more than $1 billion in total funding across multiple rounds, reaching a $2.3 billion valuation after a 2025 Series E round, and in 2026 announced a new large-scale printer platform (Monolith One) alongside a second manufacturing facility in Long Beach, California, aimed largely at scaling defense-related production.
