Overview

Dutchie is a Bend, Oregon-founded technology company that provides point-of-sale, e-commerce, and payments infrastructure for cannabis dispensaries across the United States and Canada. Founded in 2017 by brothers Ross and Zach Lipson, the company grew rapidly during the cannabis-tech investment boom of 2020-2021, expanding through the acquisitions of retail platform Greenbits and software provider LeafLogix.

After raising over $600 million from investors including Tiger Global, D1 Capital Partners, and Thrive Capital, Dutchie's valuation fell sharply amid a broader cannabis-industry downturn. The company underwent leadership changes and layoffs between 2022 and 2024, and closed a $100 million financing round in January 2024 at a steeply reduced valuation as it worked toward profitability.
