EBANX
Overview
EBANX was founded in 2012 in Curitiba, Brazil, by João Del Valle. The company operates a cross-border payments platform that lets global merchants accept local payment methods and settle transactions across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, letting international businesses reach shoppers in markets where credit cards are not the default way to pay.
EBANX reached unicorn status in October 2019, and in June 2021 Advent International invested $400 million (with an additional $30 million in commitments), becoming a majority shareholder alongside existing investor FTV Capital, in a deal EBANX said would fund regional expansion and hiring ahead of a potential U.S. listing.
More recently, EBANX has pushed into Asia-Pacific, opening a regional headquarters in Singapore in 2026 after obtaining a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and it has expanded its executive bench across Latin America, EMEA, and APAC. The company continues to lean on Brazil's Pix instant-payment system, partnering with firms like Pagaleve to offer installment payments and forecasting Pix will account for roughly half of Brazil's online sales by 2028.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
