Overview

Exabeam is a cybersecurity company that builds AI-driven security operations software, including a cloud-native SIEM (security information and event management) platform used by security teams to detect, investigate, and respond to threats. The company was founded in 2013 by security-industry veterans including Nir Polak and Sylvain Gil, drawing on their earlier experience at Imperva, with a focus on applying behavioral analytics to large volumes of security log data.

Exabeam raised a series of venture rounds between 2014 and 2021 from investors including Norwest Venture Partners, Aspect Ventures, Icon Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, Sapphire Ventures, and Owl Rock, reaching unicorn status with a $2.4 billion post-money valuation after its June 2021 Series F round. In July 2019 it acquired the Israeli cloud security firm SkyFormation, establishing an R&D presence in Israel.

In May 2024, Exabeam announced a merger agreement with Thoma Bravo-owned LogRhythm, a rival SIEM vendor, to form a combined cybersecurity company; the merger was finalized in July 2024 and the combined entity operates under the Exabeam name from LogRhythm's former Broomfield, Colorado headquarters. Christopher O'Malley, LogRhythm's former CEO, led the combined company until his retirement, after which Pete Harteveld was appointed CEO in October 2025. Exabeam has been named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for SIEM multiple years running, including in the 2025 report.
