Overview

Factorial is a Barcelona-based software company that sells an all-in-one human resources platform aimed at small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). The product covers hiring, onboarding, payroll administration, time-off and time tracking, performance management, and internal communications, positioning itself as bringing enterprise-grade HR tooling to companies too small to be served well by legacy enterprise HR suites.

The company is led by co-founder and CEO Jordi Romero alongside co-founders Pau Ramon and Bernat Farrero. Its customers have historically averaged in the range of 50 to 250 employees, spanning industries and countries; named customers cited in press coverage include divisions of Booking.com, KFC franchisees, Whisbi, Freshly, and Vicio.

Factorial reached unicorn status in October 2022 after a $120 million Series C led by Atomico doubled its valuation to $1 billion, roughly a year after an $80 million Series B valued the company at $530 million. Since then it has drawn on non-dilutive venture debt from General Catalyst: $80 million in April 2024 and a further $120 million in March 2025, to fund sales and marketing expansion rather than raising additional equity.
