Overview

Founded in 2014 by Amol Deshpande and Charles Baron, Farmers Business Network began as a farmer-to-farmer data-sharing network that let growers compare anonymized, aggregated benchmarks on seed performance, input costs, and yields across thousands of farms. It has since grown into a broader digital commerce platform serving more than 117,000 member farms across roughly 187 million acres in North America.

In October 2025, FBN spun off its crop-protection sourcing and first-mile logistics unit as an independent company, Global Crop Solutions (GCS), repositioning FBN as an asset-light digital platform focused on farm inputs, financing, and data-driven farm intelligence, while GCS continues to sell products to FBN members.
