Overview
General Intuition is an AI research lab building foundation models aimed at giving AI agents spatial-temporal reasoning: an understanding of how objects and entities move through space and time. The company spun out of Medal, a video-game clip-sharing platform, in October 2025, and trains its models on Medal's large library of gameplay video, including the controller inputs and action timing recorded alongside each clip.
The company's thesis, as described by CEO Pim de Witte, is that gameplay footage paired with player action data gives models a richer signal than text or ordinary video alone, letting a single model respond to in-game dynamics and take action, and also transfer that spatial-temporal reasoning to real-world dynamics. General Intuition has demonstrated this by fine-tuning its foundation model to operate a quadrupedal robot using only a few minutes of real-world robotics data on top of its game-trained base.
General Intuition is based in New York and was founded by Pim de Witte (CEO) along with Eloi Alonso, Adam Jelley, and Vincent Micheli. The company has pitched itself as a foundation-model layer that other robotics and embodied-AI companies could build specialized applications on top of, rather than a builder of any single end product such as a self-driving car.
