Overview

Genki Forest (元气森林) — sold internationally under the name Chi Forest — is a Beijing-based beverage manufacturer founded in 2016 by entrepreneur Tang Binsen, known for its zero-sugar, zero-fat, low-calorie sparkling waters, flavored teas and energy drinks. Tang previously founded and sold the mobile-gaming studio ELEX Technology and later set up the investment firm Challenger Ventures. The company's drinks are distributed across mainland China and exported to dozens of countries, including the United States (where they began selling in Costco stores in June 2023), the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Japan and Australia. In February 2023 the company changed its bottle logo, replacing a Japanese kanji character with the equivalent Chinese character, as part of a broader shift away from its early Japanese-inspired branding. As of January 2026, the company — by then also referred to as Chi Forest — was reported to be in early, preliminary talks with advisers about a possible Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing, though a company representative said it had no IPO plan at present.
