Overview
Gimlet Labs is an applied AI infrastructure company that built what it calls the first "multi-silicon inference cloud" — software that automatically splits large AI models and agentic workloads into components and deploys each piece on whichever chip architecture (GPUs, CPUs, or specialized accelerators from different vendors) handles it most efficiently. Its custom compiler, built on MLIR, disaggregates the prefill and decode phases of inference and applies chip-specific optimizations such as operator fusion and kernel parallelization, letting customers run agentic AI workloads across heterogeneous hardware without rewriting code.
The company was founded by CEO Zain Asgar along with Michelle Nguyen, Omid Azizi, and Natalie Serrino, who previously built Pixie, an open-source Kubernetes observability tool acquired by New Relic in 2020. Headquartered in San Francisco, Gimlet Labs emerged from stealth in October 2025 with a $12 million seed round and already eight-figure revenue, then raised an $80 million Series A in March 2026 and a $300 million Series B in September 2026 at a $3 billion valuation, with investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures, Arm Holdings, Samsung Ventures, and Microsoft's M12 fund.
