Overview

GoodLeap (originally founded as Paramount Equity Mortgage, later Loanpal, and rebranded to GoodLeap in June 2021) is a fintech platform that provides point-of-sale financing for residential solar energy systems, battery storage, and other sustainable home improvements such as HVAC and energy-efficient windows.

Homeowners apply through GoodLeap's technology at the point of sale with a contractor, and the company originates the loan while pre-selling the resulting receivables to institutional investors, earning origination, servicing, and securitization fees rather than holding the loans on its own balance sheet.

Founded and led by Hayes Barnard, GoodLeap has facilitated over $30 billion in financing to more than one million homeowners across all 50 states as of 2025.

The company is headquartered in Roseville, California, with additional offices including San Francisco, and funds its loan originations in part through recurring asset-backed securitizations, having closed dozens of ABS deals across 2024-2026.
