Overview
WeDoctor is a Hangzhou-based digital health company that began as Guahao.com, an online hospital-appointment booking platform founded around 2010-2011 by Liao Jieyuan (Jerry Liao).
In 2015 the business rebranded as WeDoctor and opened Wuzhen Internet Hospital, described as one of China's first internet hospitals, expanding into telemedicine, an online pharmacy, health insurance products, and AI-driven "digital health community" services for hospitals, insurers, and employers. Tencent has been a long-standing strategic investor.
The company has attempted a Hong Kong Main Board listing multiple times: a first application filed in April 2021 lapsed after six months, and a revived application filed December 31, 2024 (updated again in September 2025) had not resulted in a completed listing as of the most recent reporting reviewed; some 2026 IPO trackers listed the application among those that lapsed in late March 2026. As of the most recent public reporting reviewed, WeDoctor remains a privately held company.
