Overview
Hello TransTech, commonly known as Hellobike (哈啰出行) and later rebranded simply as Hello, is a Chinese mobility and technology company headquartered in Shanghai. Co-founded by Yang Lei and Li Kaizhu in May 2016, the company built its business around dockless shared bicycles before expanding into e-bikes, e-scooter rental, battery-swap services for two-wheelers, and car-hailing/ride-pooling under the Hello app, with an international arm operating under the HelloRide brand in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. Hello survived the brutal Chinese bike-sharing shakeout of the late 2010s that eliminated larger rivals, in large part on the strength of deep-pocketed backing from Ant Financial (later Ant Group), which became its largest single shareholder with an estimated stake of roughly 36 percent. The company reported more than 800 million registered users as of its most recent public disclosures. In April 2021 Hello Inc., the company's offshore holding vehicle, filed for a Nasdaq initial public offering, becoming the first major Chinese bike-sharing operator to seek a U.S. listing, but withdrew that registration in July 2021 as Beijing tightened oversight of Chinese companies listing overseas in the wake of the Didi Chuxing IPO controversy. Since then Hello has continued raising private capital from existing shareholders, including Alibaba's first direct investment in the company in November 2021, and has pushed into new lines of business, most notably a June 2025 joint venture with Ant Group and battery maker CATL to develop Level 4 autonomous-driving robotaxi technology.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
