Overview

Higgsfield is a San Francisco-based generative AI company that builds an AI video and image creation platform for consumers, creators, marketing teams, and filmmakers, offering tools such as Cinema Studio for filmmakers and Marketing Studio for brand and marketing teams. Its platform includes AI video generation, image generation and editing, cinematic scene creation, camera controls, visual effects, video upscaling, lip-syncing, and character creation, orchestrating multiple underlying AI models to turn simple prompts into short-form video content.

The company was founded in 2023 by Alex Mashrabov, formerly Head of Generative AI at Snap after Snap's 2019 acquisition of his prior startup AI Factory (creator of Snap's camera/lens technology) for a reported $166 million, and Yerzat Dulat, a technical co-founder and open-source AI researcher who serves as Chief Technology Officer. Mahi de Silva, a Silicon Valley executive with prior roles at NVIDIA, Apple, VeriSign, and as CEO of Triller Inc. and Amplify.ai, joined as Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer.

Higgsfield grew rapidly from an $8 million seed round led by Menlo Ventures in April 2024 to a $50 million Series A led by GFT Ventures in September 2025 at a $1.0 billion valuation, an $80 million Series A extension led by Accel in January 2026 at a $1.3 billion valuation, and a $400 million Series B led by DST Global in August 2026 at a $5.4 billion valuation — roughly quadrupling its valuation in about eight months.

By the time of the Series B, the company reported more than 30 million users across 238 countries and territories, roughly 390 Fortune 500 customers, and annualized revenue of about $700 million, up from a reported $200 million run rate around the time of the Series A extension roughly seven months earlier. Higgsfield remains privately held as of September 2026 with no announced IPO timeline.
