Overview
Hithium (Xiamen Hithium Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Xiamen, China-based manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells and complete battery energy storage systems (BESS) for utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and residential use. Founded in 2019 by Wu Zuyu (chairman) and Jason Wang (CEO and co-founder), the company grew quickly to rank among the world's largest energy storage system suppliers, reporting 2024 revenue of roughly 12.9 billion yuan ($1.81 billion) and citing second place globally in energy storage shipments in the first half of 2025.
Hithium has raised more than 2 billion yuan in an October 2022 Series B round led by ABC International and over 4.5 billion yuan ($622 million) in a July 2023 Series C round led by Beijing Financial Street Capital Operation Group and China Life Private Equity Investment, reaching unicorn status with a 2026 Hurun-listed valuation of 28 billion yuan.
As of September 2026, Hithium remains a private company that has twice filed for a Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing: an initial application filed in March 2025 lapsed in September 2025 under HKEX's standard six-month rule, and the company filed an updated application in October 2025 whose subsequent outcome was not confirmed in English-language business press as of this research.
