Overview

HoneyBook is a San Francisco-based software company that provides a client experience and financial management platform for independent, service-based businesses such as photographers, event planners, designers, and other freelance professionals. The platform combines client communication, contracts, invoicing, scheduling, and payments into a single system intended to help solo operators and small teams run their businesses without stitching together separate tools.

The company was founded in 2013 in San Francisco by Israeli husband-and-wife team Oz Alon and Naama Alon, along with Dror Shimoni. Oz Alon serves as CEO. HoneyBook grew out of an earlier idea focused on helping wedding and event vendors organize client work before evolving into a broader business-management product for independent contractors across the U.S. and Canada.

By late 2021, HoneyBook described a contractor network of more than 75,000 independent business owners using its platform, with total business booked through the platform reaching a cumulative $5 billion, including $1.8 billion booked in 2021 alone. The company has continued to expand its product with payment financing and, more recently, AI-assisted pricing and customer-acquisition tools for its members.

Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
