Houzz

Houzz is a Palo Alto, California-based technology company operating an online platform for home renovation and design, connecting homeowners with architects, interior designers, contractors and other renovation professionals alongside a catalog of home products. Co-founders Adi Tatarko and Alon Cohen, a married couple, started the project in 2009 after struggling to find renovation inspiration and professionals for their own home remodel. Houzz's last disclosed primary financing round was a $400 million Series E in June 2017 led by ICONIQ Capital, valuing the company at about $4 billion, and it has raised more than $650 million in total funding to date from investors including Sequoia Capital, New Enterprise Associates, GGV Capital and DST Global. In October 2021, Reuters reported Houzz had hired Goldman Sachs to prepare for a potential U.S. stock market listing targeted for early 2022; that IPO never took place and Houzz remained a private company as of September 2026. The company has gone through more than one round of workforce reductions, including cutting nearly 100 jobs, about 8% of its workforce, in the U.S. and Israel in December 2022 amid a slowdown in home renovation and design spending. Alon Cohen became Chief Executive Officer in January 2024, with co-founder Adi Tatarko moving into the role of Executive Chair.
