Overview

Icertis is a privately held, venture-backed enterprise software company that builds Icertis Contract Intelligence (ICI), a cloud-based contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform used by large organizations to digitize, organize, and centralize business contracts. The platform applies AI and machine learning to flag problematic clauses, track obligations, and surface compliance risk across an organization's full contract portfolio.

The company was co-founded in 2009 by Samir Bodas, formerly CEO of Aztecsoft, and Monish Darda, a former BladeLogic executive. Icertis is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, with additional offices across North America, Europe, and India (the company has significant roots and engineering presence in Pune, India). As of December 2021 it employed roughly 1,700 people.

In 2026 Icertis rebranded its product suite around "Vera," an AI-native layer spanning contract engagement, operations, and analytics (Vera Copilot, Vera Composer Agent, Vera Risk Review Agent, and related agents), positioning the company around agentic, AI-driven contract intelligence rather than CLM software alone.

Icertis has raised strategic minority investments from SoftBank (reported, November 2021) and SAP (announced January 2022) in addition to its venture funding rounds, and has held a long-standing partnership with Microsoft that was expanded in 2026 around agentic automation. As of this research date the company remains privately held; it has discussed a potential U.S. IPO in the past but has not gone public, been acquired, or been wound down.

Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
