ICEYE

ICEYE is a Finnish New Space company that designs, builds and operates its own constellation of synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) microsatellites, delivering persistent Earth-observation imagery that can see through cloud cover and darkness. Founded in 2014 by Rafal Modrzewski and Pekka Laurila as a spin-off from Aalto University's Radio Science and Engineering department, the company launched the world's first commercial SAR microsatellite in January 2018 and has since grown into what it describes as the world's largest SAR satellite constellation, serving defense, intelligence, insurance, environmental monitoring and emergency-management customers. ICEYE is headquartered in Espoo, Finland, with additional offices including Warsaw, Poland; Irvine, California; and Bordon, UK, and employs more than 1,000 people across more than 45 countries. In 2025 the company said it crossed EUR 250 million in revenue and EUR 100 million in EBITDA, and has said it reached profitability that year.
