Overview
Inari is an agricultural biotechnology company founded in 2016 by Flagship Pioneering, describing itself as "the SEEDesign Company." It combines AI-powered predictive design with multiplex gene editing to develop seeds intended to be higher-yielding and require fewer resources such as water and land, initially focusing on corn and soybeans in the Americas and later expanding to wheat.
The company is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with additional operations in West Lafayette, Indiana, and Ghent, Belgium, and had grown to more than 300 employees by 2025. Inari develops its seed products in partnership with independent seed producers rather than selling directly to growers itself.
Inari has raised equity funding across several rounds from 2019 to 2024 from investors including Flagship Pioneering, the Investment Corporation of Dubai, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Hanwha Impact, and others, with cumulative equity raised reported at more than $575 million as of January 2024. Ponsi Trivisvavet served as CEO through at least the 2022 Series E round; as of September 2025, co-founder and board chair Ignacio Martinez was serving as interim CEO.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
