Overview
Kry is a Swedish digital healthcare company, founded on July 8, 2014 by Johannes Schildt, Fredrik Jung-Abbou, Josefin Landgård, and Joachim Hedenius, that connects patients with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and physiotherapists through its mobile app for video and chat consultations, alongside a network of physical clinics. The service launched in Sweden in 2015 and has since expanded to Norway, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.
The company operates under the Kry brand in Sweden, Norway, and Germany, and under the Livi brand in the United Kingdom and France; Livi is run and owned by KRY International AB. In the UK, Livi has built extensive partnerships with the National Health Service, including regional service contracts and, in September 2021, the acquisition of NHS-focused software design agency VIX Digital. As of company materials, Kry/Livi has completed more than 14 million patient appointments through a network of over 5,000 healthcare professionals and 34 physical clinic locations.
Kry raised venture funding across several rounds between 2016 and 2021 from investors including Index Ventures, Creandum, Accel, Project A, Fidelity Management & Research, and CPP Investments, reaching a reported $2 billion valuation in April 2021. Johannes Schildt continues to serve as CEO. The company has reported more than 14 million patient appointments completed to date, per its own site.
