About

Legora positions its product as an AI workspace rather than a single-purpose chatbot: lawyers use it for research, contract and document review, drafting, and collaborative workflows across a legal team, with the AI acting alongside human lawyers rather than replacing a discrete task in isolation.

Overview

Legora, originally launched as Leya, is a Stockholm-founded artificial intelligence company building a collaborative AI workspace for lawyers and legal teams. Founded in 2023 by Max Junestrand and Sigge Labor and accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2024 batch, the company's platform lets legal professionals research, review documents, draft, and run workflows alongside AI within one system, rather than through a simple chatbot interface. Legora rebranded from Leya to its current name in February 2025 as it expanded internationally, and launched formally in the United States in March 2025 with a New York office and a partnership with law firm Goodwin. The company has since raised rapid, large venture rounds culminating in a $550 million Series D in March 2026 at a $5.55 billion valuation, led by Accel, followed by a $50 million extension in April 2026 that brought in Atlassian and NVIDIA's NVentures and pushed the valuation to roughly $5.6 billion. Legora says it has surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and serves legal teams across dozens of markets, with company materials citing 675+ employees as of its most recent newsroom update.
