Overview
Loft is a São Paulo, Brazil-based real estate technology company founded in 2018 by Mate Pencz and Florian Hagenbuch. It began as a digital homebuying and iBuyer-style resale platform for apartments in Brazilian cities and has since expanded into a broader real estate technology and financial-services group, offering brokerage, rental, financing, and insurance products alongside a software-as-a-service suite for independent real estate agencies.
After raising more than $800 million in disclosed venture financing between 2020 and 2023 from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, D1 Capital Partners, Vulcan Capital, Fifth Wall, and Tiger Global, Loft cut roughly 540 positions in 2022 as financing conditions tightened, then restructured toward fintech products such as rent guarantees. The company says it reached break-even in the fourth quarter of 2023 and has posted two consecutive profitable years since, processing 1.2 million transactions in 2025.
Loft is privately held and has not listed on any stock exchange. Co-founder and CEO Mate Pencz said in March 2026 that the company is monitoring the U.S. IPO window with audited financials and Big Four advisory support in place, but described no urgency or set timeline for going public now that the business is self-sustaining.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
