Overview
Genspark, operated by MainFunc, is an AI startup based in Palo Alto, California with an additional office in Singapore. Founded in 2023, the company builds an agentic AI product it markets as a 'Super Agent' — a workspace that takes natural-language requests and produces finished deliverables such as slide decks, documents, spreadsheets, images, and code, using a mixture-of-agents architecture that draws on multiple third-party and in-house large language models.
Genspark was co-founded by Eric Jing and Kay Zhu. Jing previously worked as a development manager on Microsoft's Bing search team and later as chief product officer for Baidu's search and AI divisions; Zhu also held search-focused roles at Google and Baidu. Before starting the company behind Genspark, the pair had co-founded Xiaodu, a smart-device hardware startup modeled on Amazon Echo.
The company has grown from an AI search engine positioning at launch in mid-2024 into a broader AI workspace product, reporting over 2 million monthly active users and roughly 100,000 paying seats on a per-seat SaaS pricing model, with annualized revenue estimated to have grown from about $85 million at the end of 2025 to about $250 million by March 2026, according to Sacra's analysis. Genspark has raised financing across several rounds since 2024 and reached a reported $2.6 billion valuation in mid-2026.
