Overview
Mind Robotics builds a full-stack industrial robotics platform combining AI foundation models, purpose-built robotic hardware and deployment infrastructure, aimed at manufacturing tasks such as assembly, material handling, inspection and precision manipulation that it says go beyond what pre-programmed, repetitive industrial robots can do.
The company began as an internal Rivian effort known as Project Synapse before Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe spun it out as an independent company in November 2025, with Scaringe serving as Mind Robotics' chairman. Mind Robotics trains and tests its systems using data and real-world deployment inside Rivian's electric vehicle factory in Normal, Illinois, with Rivian remaining a strategic partner and shareholder.
