Overview
N26 is a Berlin-based digital bank founded in 2013 by Valentin Stalf and Maximilian Tayenthal. Originally launched as a prepaid-card fintech, N26 received its own German banking license from BaFin in mid-2016 and has since grown into a fully licensed digital bank serving customers across the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland via a mobile-first current account, savings, and investing product suite. The company spent several years under a BaFin-imposed cap on new-customer growth, tied to anti-money-laundering control failures, which was fully lifted in June 2024. N26 reported its first full year of net profitability in 2025.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
