Overview

NEURA Robotics is a Metzingen, Germany-based robotics company founded in 2019 by David Reger to build what it calls 'cognitive' or 'Physical AI' robots -- machines that combine sensors, force-torque feedback and AI reasoning so they can work directly alongside people. Its product line spans the MAiRA cognitive robot arm, the LARA collaborative robot (cobot) family for industrial automation, MAV/MAV+ autonomous mobile transport robots, the MiPA personal-assistant robot, and the 4NE1 humanoid robot, tied together by the company's Neuraverse software and data platform. NEURA has raised capital from a mix of European venture firms and, more recently, large US technology and financial strategics: a $55 million round in July 2023 backed by Lingotto, Vsquared Ventures, Primepulse and HV Capital (after previously being financed with about $80 million in strategic backing from China's Han's Group, which NEURA bought out ahead of that round); a $16 million extension from InterAlpen Partners that October; a EUR120 million Series B in January 2025 led by Lingotto Investment Management; and a Series C announced June 10, 2026 that NEURA itself described as 'up to $1.4 billion,' led by stablecoin issuer Tether and joined by Qualcomm Technologies, Amazon, NVIDIA, imec.xpand, Bosch, Schaeffler, the European Investment Bank, Lingotto Horizon and InterAlpen Partners -- a deal Handelsblatt reported valued the company at around $7 billion. The company has also entered a strategic collaboration with AWS to host Neuraverse and explore deploying NEURA robots in Amazon fulfillment centers, and in August 2026 it agreed to acquire Bosch Rexroth's ACTIVE Shuttle automated-guided-vehicle platform (effective October 1, 2026) and acquired 100% of Germany's ADLATUS Robotics GmbH, a maker of autonomous cleaning robots.
