Overview
Nexthop AI builds switches, optical and electrical interconnects, and a network operating system purpose-built for the scale-out and scale-across networking needs of AI clusters. Its products connect the thousands of GPUs inside a single AI data center and link multiple data center facilities together, targeting the world's largest cloud operators.
The company emerged from stealth in March 2025 with $110 million in combined seed and Series A funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, alongside Kleiner Perkins, WestBridge Capital, Battery Ventures, and Emergent Ventures. One year later, in March 2026, Nexthop AI closed an oversubscribed $500 million Series B round led by Lightspeed with new investor Andreessen Horowitz and existing backers Altimeter Capital and Kleiner Perkins, taking its reported valuation to $4.2 billion.
