Overview
Nextiva is a privately held business communications company based in Scottsdale, Arizona, founded in 2006 by Tomas Gorny. The company began as a cloud-based voice-over-IP (VoIP) and unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider and has since expanded into a broader customer experience management (CXM) platform.
Its core product, NextOS, combines cloud voice, video conferencing, chat, email, CRM, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities into a single interface, allowing businesses to manage customer conversations across multiple channels from one platform.
Nextiva grew for over a decade without outside venture capital funding, reaching roughly $200 million in annual revenue by 2020 through organic growth alone. In late 2021 the company took its first outside institutional capital, a $200 million growth investment from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, which valued the company at $2.7 billion.
The company has continued to expand through acquisitions, including customer engagement software company Simplify360 and, in January 2024, AI-driven contact center software company Thrio. As of 2024, Nextiva reported approximately $350 million in annual revenue, more than 1,000 employees, and roughly 150,000 business customers.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event.
