Overview

noon is a consumer commerce platform serving Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, spanning e-commerce, quick commerce (noon Minutes), food delivery, fintech and fashion (via its Namshi brand).

It was set up in November 2016 as a roughly $1 billion e-commerce venture led by Emaar Properties chairman Mohamed Alabbar together with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which holds a 50% stake, with Alabbar and a group of about 60 other Gulf-area investors holding the rest.

The platform launched in the UAE in 2017, Saudi Arabia shortly after, and Egypt in 2019, and now operates its permanent headquarters in Riyadh.

In 2022 noon acquired the fashion e-commerce platform Namshi from Emaar Malls for $335.2 million, folding it into the noon ecosystem while keeping the Namshi brand.

As of December 2025, founder Mohamed Alabbar said noon had raised $2.7 billion in total funding and was working toward a possible IPO within two years, with a most recent valuation cited by Alabbar at close to $10 billion.
