Founded in Oulu, Finland in 2013 by Petteri Lahtela, Kari Kivelä and Markku Koskela, the company shipped its first ring in 2015 and has grown into the category leader in smart-ring wearables, with headquarters now in San Francisco alongside offices in Oulu, Helsinki and San Diego. Tom Hale became CEO in March 2022, succeeding Harpreet Singh Rai. Oura has sold more than 5.5 million rings since launch, with more than half of those sales in the twelve months before its October 2025 Series E, and reported revenue of more than $500 million in 2024, roughly doubling year over year. The company has raised over $1.2 billion across its Series A through Series E rounds, most recently valuing it at approximately $11 billion in October 2025. On September 3, 2026, Oura publicly filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker OURA, reporting $1.21 billion in revenue for the nine months ended June 30, 2026 (up 74% year over year) and 5.0 million paid members.
