Overview
Pennylane builds cloud-based accounting and financial-management software for small and mid-sized businesses (SMEs) and the chartered accounting firms that serve them. The platform combines production tools used by accountants with a client-facing app for invoicing, payments, expense management, cash-flow tracking and profitability monitoring, aiming to give both sides a single, real-time view of a company's finances.
Founded in Paris in 2019 by Arthur Waller, Quentin de Metz and five other co-founders -- several of whom had previously built and sold the hotel revenue-management startup PriceMatch to Booking.com -- Pennylane launched its product in January 2020 and has since grown into one of France's best-known fintech unicorns, expanding into Germany in 2025 while continuing to raise large growth rounds from US and European investors.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
