Overview

Phantom is a San Francisco-based crypto wallet and consumer finance platform founded in January 2021 by a team of designers, engineers and former founders, including CEO Brandon Millman, CTO Francesco Agosti and CPO Chris Kalani. What began as a browser-extension wallet for the Solana blockchain has grown into a multichain platform supporting Solana, Ethereum, Polygon, Bitcoin and other networks, used by tens of millions of people to hold, swap and trade digital assets.

Phantom has raised $268 million in disclosed venture funding across three priced rounds, most recently a $150 million Series C in January 2025 co-led by Sequoia Capital and Paradigm at a reported $3 billion valuation. Since 2024 the company has expanded well beyond its original wallet product through a string of acquisitions and new launches, including SimpleHash, Solsniper and the Parallax team, plus its own Phantom Perps trading product, Phantom Cash spending account and Phantom Terminal desktop trading platform, positioning itself as a full-stack consumer finance platform built around a self-custodial wallet.
