Overview
Pleo was founded in 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Jeppe Rindom and Niccolo Perra, two former colleagues from e-invoicing company Tradeshift, to replace expense reports and reimbursements with smart company cards and automated bookkeeping software for small and mid-sized businesses.
The company grew from a Nordic spend-management startup into a pan-European fintech, expanding across Denmark, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Spain and other markets, and raising a series of venture rounds that made it Denmark's first fintech unicorn in mid-2021.
In 2026, Pleo has faced public scrutiny over a rapid leadership turnover and cost-cutting, alongside a markdown of its valuation by an early backer, even as the company continued to roll out new AI-driven finance features and kept a potential future public listing under consideration.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
