ReliaQuest was founded in Tampa, Florida in 2007 by Brian Murphy, who bootstrapped the company for nine years — including taking a second mortgage and suspending his own salary — before raising its first institutional capital, a $30 million growth equity commitment from FTV Capital, in June 2016. In July 2026 ReliaQuest joined OpenAI's Daybreak Cyber Partner Program to gain early access to advanced OpenAI models and cyber capabilities for use inside GreyMatter's automated workflows.
