Overview
Seismic was built by CEO-turned-chairman Doug Winter, an MIT graduate who had previously sold an earlier startup for $90 million before growing Seismic into a billion-dollar, San Diego-based sales enablement software company.
The company raised a $40 million Series C in May 2016 led by General Atlantic, followed by a $100 million Series E in December 2018, and in August 2021 closed a $170 million Series G alongside its acquisition of coaching-software maker Lessonly, with reporting at the time describing Seismic as a San Diego software unicorn on a possible path to an IPO.
Rob Tarkoff, a former enterprise-software executive at Oracle and Adobe, was named Seismic's Chief Executive Officer in October 2025.
On August 18, 2026, Seismic completed its merger with Highspot, with the combined company continuing under the Seismic name and Tarkoff as CEO; the deal cleared U.S. Department of Justice review the following day, and the combined business kept Highspot's Seattle and British Columbia sites as R&D locations alongside Seismic's San Diego headquarters.
On September 1, 2026, Seismic named enterprise-software veteran Umberto Milletti as Chief Product and Technology Officer following the Highspot merger.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
