Overview
Shift Technology is a Paris-based company, founded in 2014, that builds artificial-intelligence software for the insurance industry. Its platform is used by insurers for fraud detection and risk management, coverage and liability assessment, subrogation case management, injury and medical-billing analysis, claims-process acceleration, and healthcare payment integrity, and it also operates an Insurance Data Network for cross-carrier claim analysis.
The company has grown from its Paris headquarters into a global operation with offices in cities including Boston, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Singapore, London, Madrid, Toronto, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo. It says its software has been used to analyze more than 4 billion policies, claims, and documents, serving more than 350 million policyholders across 30-plus countries, and that it is used by all of the top five U.S. property and casualty insurers. Long-running customers include large insurers such as AXA, which renewed a five-year collaboration with Shift in 2026 spanning claims processing, fraud detection, and underwriting AI across 15 countries.
Shift Technology is led by CEO and co-founder Jeremy Jawish. The company has raised venture funding across multiple rounds since 2016, most notably a $220 million Series D led by Advent International in 2021 that valued the company at more than $1 billion, bringing its total funding at that time to $320 million.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
