Overview
Sierra is a private, San Francisco-headquartered enterprise AI company that builds customer-facing AI agents. Co-founded in 2023 by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce Co-CEO, Quip founder, and Facebook CTO) and Clay Bavor (an 18-year Google veteran who led Google Labs, Google AR/VR, Project Starline, Google Lens, and Google Workspace), Sierra launched publicly in February 2024.
Its core platform, Agent OS, lets businesses build, test, deploy, and improve AI agents that interact with customers and take action through connected systems of record — order management, CRM, subscriptions, delivery, and account systems — across chat, SMS, WhatsApp, email, voice, and ChatGPT. Complementary tools include Agent Studio (a no-code builder), the Agent SDK (a code-based builder for developers), and the Agent Data Platform, a memory and context layer unifying conversation data with structured business data.
Sierra uses outcome-based pricing, charging customers for value delivered rather than seats or tokens. Use cases span customer support, sales, subscription management, retention, healthcare workflows, banking, home lending, insurance claims, telecom, and retail.
The company has grown rapidly, reporting $100 million in annualized recurring revenue about seven quarters after its February 2024 launch and more than $150 million ARR entering its third year. It has raised over $1.5 billion across four disclosed financings, reaching a valuation above $15 billion by May 2026, backed by investors including Sequoia, Benchmark, Greenoaks, ICONIQ, Thrive Capital, Tiger Global, and GV.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
