Overview
Sigma is a San Francisco-based cloud analytics and business intelligence company founded in 2014 by Jason Frantz and Rob Woollen under the original name Bitmoon Computing before adopting the Sigma name. The company built a spreadsheet-style interface that lets business users explore and analyze data directly on top of cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and Databricks, without requiring engineering support or moving the underlying data. Sigma has since expanded into AI-native application development, letting customers build interactive apps, automated workflows and, most recently, autonomous AI agents on governed warehouse data.
Sigma has grown quickly on the back of enterprise demand for AI-ready analytics: it surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue in 2025 and then doubled that figure to more than $200 million by early 2026, adding over 1.1 million active users and surpassing 2,000 customers including AMD, Duolingo, Colgate-Palmolive and JPMorgan Chase. The company closed a $200 million Series D in May 2024 at a $1.5 billion valuation and an $80 million Series E in May 2026 that doubled its valuation to $3 billion, with new strategic backing from Databricks Ventures, ServiceNow Ventures and Workday Ventures alongside a broadened partnership footprint that includes a 2026 strategic collaboration agreement with AWS.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
