Overview
Sourcegraph was founded in 2013 by Quinn Slack and Beyang Liu to build a universal code-search and code-intelligence tool for large, multi-repository codebases.
The company's platform indexes an enterprise's full codebase so that both human developers and AI coding agents have complete context to understand, oversee, and evolve it, with enterprise features such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance, zero-data-retention options, and SSO/SCIM/RBAC support.
In December 2025, Sourcegraph announced that Amp, the AI coding-agent product it had built starting in 2025, would become an independent company, Amp Inc., co-founded by Quinn Slack and Beyang Liu, while Dan Adler stepped in as CEO of Sourcegraph. The two companies' existing venture investors continue to hold board seats across both entities.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
